“Sommartider - Filmen om Gyllene Tider” - Shot at IMRSV Studios

This summer, the movie “Sommartider - Filmen om Gyllene Tider” will be released in cinemas, written and directed by Per Simonsson and distributed by Nordisk Film. The movie narrates the pop band that took Sweden by storm over forty years ago. During that time, a lot of their music was recorded in our studio, formerly EMI studio, and parts of the scenes in the movie were filmed here at IMRSV.

To recreate the 1980s aesthetic of the studio, extensive staging was undertaken to replicate its original interior, creating a more retro atmosphere. Modern speakers were removed, and fake wooden panels were installed on the mixer table, along with other decorative elements added to enhance the scenes.

The feature film about Gyllene Tider's road to success is based on the band's history. Per Gessle, the ambitious outsider at the school in the small city of Halmstad, finds companionship and lifelong friends through music with Mats, Micke, Anders, and Göran, who then becomes Gyllene Tider. Despite setbacks and societal norms, the band perseveres and achieves its major success in the early 1980s with its catchy choruses and affectionate lyrics about life in a small town.

Premieres on the cinemas 17th of July 2024. Don’t miss it out!
