IMRSV Music — our story

Located in the south part of Stockholm, our building has a rich history dating back to 1939. It was originally constructed as a 460-seat movie theatre named "Kaza”. The space has also served as a vibrant rollerblade disco, adding to its eclectic charm. In 1969 it went through transformation and became the renowned EMI Studio, designed as a precise replica of Studio 2 at the iconic Abbey Road in London.
Since then, the studio has been and is still a hub of creativity, with iconic recordings with international and Swedish acts like ABBA, Roxette, Lil Nas X, Drake, Beyoncé, Avicii, Robyn, Jason Derulo, Swedish House Mafia, Kendrick Lamar, Harry Styles, Benjamin Ingrosso, Zara Larsson and Britney Spears.
Sweden's first No. 1 Billboard hit ‘Hooked On A Feeling’ with Björn Skifs & Blue Swede, was recorded in the studio, along with four Billboard No. 1 hits with Roxette.
The legendary studio at Palandergatan in Skärmarbrink, Stockholm has been a cornerstone of the Swedish music scene for over 50 years, standing as a landmark for the city. In 2019 the property owner intended to tear down the building to make way for residential apartments, and the proposal was approved by the City Development Department. A petition was created to stop the project, which was then considered by the City Planning Committee. Thanks to the support of over 10,975 individuals who signed petitions and engaged in the cause, the city of Stockholm decided that the iconic studio in Skärmarbrink would be preserved. Shortly after, IMRSV was created.
IMRSV is not just another music company; it's a leap into the future. With a commitment to Dolby Atmos, we own 13 state-of-the-art studios, including four equipped with cutting-edge Dolby Atmos technology.
